Product Description

When Honor Prevails Composed by James Swearingen. For Concert Band. Published by C L Barnhouse Co. (Catalog # 012-3535-00)

** Stanton's Signature Selection - 2006 **
Written in honor of all those who have fought for freedom above all, this work is by turns stately and regal as well as gentle and lyrical. The opening fanfare introduction gives way to a spirited melodic A-section with the melody in the trumpets and eighth-note ornamentation in the flutes and clarinets. The contrasting B-section moves from a lyrical setting of William Billings' Chester to one of the melody being augmented against a wonderfully technical counter-line in the woodwinds a la the Schuman setting. A rousing, majestic ending rounds out the piece. Don't miss this fantastic work!
