These days, many families celebrate both Christmas and Chanukah and this holiday treat fits right into that phenomenon. The piece borrows several characteristic Klezmer forms and scales from East European Jewish folk music and lays four Christmas melodies over top of them (Jingle Bells, We Wish You a Merry Christmas, Hark! The Herald Angels Sing and Deck the Hall) along with a snippet of The Dreidel Song to tie it all together. A clever and refreshing holiday concert addition.
