The setting of this traditional Turkish folk song is a great multicultural selection for your concert. Your percussionists will love the use of wind chimes, gong, tambourine, and a rain stick. Rhythms center around quarter and eighth notes and this piece is a great opportunity to teach the dotted quarter-eighth note pattern. The rhythmic and harmonic setting are very traditional making it sound like anything but a young band piece. (2:16)
