** Stanton’s Staff Selection – 2007 **
Key: Bb - Meter: 4/4
Rhythms: 8th note/8th rest patterns, dotted quarter-8th pattern, 8th-quarter-8th note syncopation
Teaching Concepts: rhythmic interplay, syncopation, subdivision, articulations

Syncopated rhythmic textures and punctuations introduce this mature-sounding work. A flowing melody is then passed around while a contrasting B-section continues the forward motion with a half-time feel.  The first theme recaps with short, accented percussion breaks.  Colorful and fun to play Urban Invasion will be a concert highlight!
