Product Description

Tucson Toccata Composed by Robert D Vandall. For 1 Piano 4 Hands. Published by Alfred Publishing Co Inc. (Catalog # 39449, UPC: 038081442655)

Commissioned by the Tucson Music Teachers Association for their 60th Anniversary Piano Ensemble Concert, this duet lives up to its name. Written in C major, the fast 4/4 meter coupled with the repeated blocked and broken chord accompaniment patterns keeps the toccata feel throughout the piece. The composition techniques that are a highlight of Vandall s compositions are found here in abundance delightful rhythmic vitality contrasted with lyricism. As always, the primo and secondo parts each get to showcase the melody. Students are sure to enjoy the energy and spirit of this toccata!
