This traditional sounding overture for young band is perfect for concert or contest. The lively, rhythmic A-section with lyrical obbligato in the upper woodwinds is contrasted by the flowing melody and interesting harmonies of the middle section. A percussion break marks the return of the A-section that leads to the energetic ending. A great piece to reinforce basics of key, form, tempo and articulation! (3:20)
