A bold, heroic piece that has a little something for everyone, Star of Valor will be a great workout for all of your students and will end up as a crowd pleasing concert piece or super adjudication option. A repeated rhythmic pattern used throughout of eighth note/sixteenth rest/sixteenth note captures the crisp style required to make the piece sparkle. Everyone's part is important and often independent from one another, with plenty of "call and response" situations or soaring melodies over galloping accompaniments. Minimal shifting in the first violins and recommended 4th finger in violins and violas to avoid open strings will add to the maturity of sound. A serving of valor for everyone!
