Recorded by the Ashley Alexander Big Band in the early 1980's, this fabulous feature for solo trombone or flugelhorn consists of three distinct sections -- a slow ballad opening and closing with a fast swing interlude between. Each ballad segment ends with a solo cadenza, and an open section during the swing portion leaves room for other players to flex their solo chops.
