Spring Can Really Hang You Up The Most Arranged by Frank Mantooth. For Jazz Ensemble. Published by Kendor Music Inc. (Catalog # 2120, UPC: 822795021202)

Recorded by the Ashley Alexander Big Band in the early 1980's, this fabulous feature for solo trombone or flugelhorn consists of three distinct sections -- a slow ballad opening and closing with a fast swing interlude between. Each ballad segment ends with a solo cadenza, and an open section during the swing portion leaves room for other players to flex their solo chops. Rhythm section parts are partially notated with chords cued. Duration 6:25.
