Arnold Sherman combines two familiar Christmas melodies in this gentle, flowing, ballad-style setting. It begins with a hint of the familiar Polish Carol ("Infant Holy, Infant Lowly"), then moves immediately into a presentation of "Away in a Manger," set here in a 4/4 meter. The combination is especially pleasing when the Polish Carol reappears in the bass line on theoptional handchimes.
