Scottish Folk Tunes (Bk/Cd)

This book is a mixture of traditional and contemporary tunes from the Scottishaccordionists' repertoire. It explores the common tune types played in Scotla nd, such as the Jig, Reel, Strathspey, Slow Air, Waltz, March and Polka. Some tunes are arranged in a traditional, dance music style, where others have beenset with a more contemporary feel. Strong emphasis has been placed on the use of the left hand to enhance the style and arrangement. Includes a history of the accordion in Scotland, and also a CD of performances by Ian Lowthian.
