The Scheherazade, Themes From Composed by Rimsky-Korsakov. Arranged by Richard Meyer. For Full Orchestra. Published by Highland/Etling. (Catalog # 33738, UPC: 038081394572)

In Richard Meyer's successful Highland/Etling First Philharmonic Series for Full Orchestra, Rimsky-Korsakov's famous symphonic suite has been masterfully arranged in a "true to the original" rendition that contains the composer's colorful, imaginative themes - Sultan's theme, Scheherezade's theme (for violin solo) The Story of the Kalendar Prince theme and The Young Prince and the Young Princess themes.  Moving from concert D minor to G major to C major and back, it allows both the strings and the winds to have some challenges and some ease when it comes to key selection.  If you have a good violin soloist you'd like to feature and are looking for very playable. but good sounding full orchestra piece, look no further - this one will do the job!
