Product Description

Sailing Composed by Yukiko Nishimura. For String Orchestra. Published by Carl Fischer, Llc. (Catalog # CAS56, UPC: 798408073541)

A new name and a fresh approach come to string teachers in the form of Yukiko Nishimura, who is destined to become quite popular, if this piece is any indication. Soaring arpeggios, interesting rhythmic combinations incorporating syncopation and hemiolas as well as shifting key centers bring to life a voyage on the ocean, with all its moods and colors. With a combination of staccatos and slurs depicting the sensations of the sea, there are many teachable aspects to this piece, but it's also highly programmable, so it covers the best of all worlds. Certainly attainable by most high school students and good middle schoolers, it will sound more difficult than it is.
