Each unit includes a brief overview of the geographical area; pictures and descriptions of several traditional percussion instruments; basic techniques for playing those instruments and rhythms; and a process for teaching the music example. Reproducible student parts and a CD featuring authentic instruments are included to help facilitate the lessons, and Mark utilizes speech and body percussion throughout, making world percussion accessible to elementary general music classes.
