Wow! This new funk original from Victor Lopez is smokin'! He wrote this chart for his own high school band (where he is the principal), and they performed it at the Midwest Band Clnic this past December. Following an alto and trumpet start, a tight ensemble section leads to an open solo vamp. A short interlude ina Latin style leads to a return of the head, and the tune finishes in a big way with a burning hot ending. This is a tough one, but your students will love the challenge. Premier Jazz Series. FUNK ADV
