A wonderful teaching piece for addressing theme and variations, this ChristianEarl composition will also make a pleasant concert selection. Beginning with a straight rendition of the melody in 4/4, the piece then moves into a short, rhythmic variation in 2/4. After moving through a flowing, expressive, 3/4 variation, the piece returns to 4/4 with a driving, rhythmic pulse, some sixteenth note rhythms and a fanfare-like ending. Making it more accessible -the composition stays in the key of E-flat so you only need to focus on the rhythms, meters, and styles of the various sections. Great for junior high band or freshman sight-reading.
