Music Connections

This general music curriculum is designed to provide a performance-based link from the intermediate general music class to the middle school/junior high performance group experience-specifically string and band instruments and chorus. The book includes a review of what the student has learned in his/her general music class (through 5th grade) and special sections for exploring being a singer in a chorus and playing a simple song on a band or string instrument. The teacher's manual includes descriptive background on the National Standards and examples of how assessment might be done for the listedAchievement Standards.
