Moonlight Over Madrid Composed by Alan Lee Silva. For String Orchestra. Published by Carl Fischer, Llc. (Catalog # YAS122, UPC: 798408091439)

Alan Lee Silva has become known for his film-score-like programmatic pieces. This one does not disappoint - it paints a picture with a romantic, Spanish folk song flavor, utilizing light syncopation, triplets, dominant seventh harmonies that rely on accidentals and a few special effects such as sul tasto tremolo and a short violin solo. The melodies and tight, Spanish harmonies are generously shared among the upper four parts, making it fun for everyone.
