** Stanton's Staff Selection - 2009 **
A shower of fireworks erupts in the night sky, kicking off this imaginative celebration that's bursting with colorful ideas. As percussion "explosions" punctuate the rushing waves of excitement, the show builds to a momentous climax, and then recedes to a solemn late-night mood. An especially effective use of piano highlights this free-flowing, almost impressionistic blend of light and shadow. The party returns, rocking to a driving dance rhythm and a bombastic finale.
