La Croix Composed by David Evan Thomas. For Organ Solo. Published by Morning Star Music Publishers. (Catalog # MSM10-631, UPC: 688670106316)

A meditative work in memory of a remarkable young man who died in 2000. In this generally introspective piece, a rising, hopeful figure alternates with gently rolling figuration to prepare the entry of the spiritual "Swing Low, Sweet Chariot", a favorite song of the dedicatee. The leave-taking is gradual, drawn out, and very tender. This work is appropriate for both concert use as well as worship. Performance time is approximately 6 minutes. Part of Concert Organ Series.
