This inspiring, new musical tells the story of a young girl, Jane, who learns that God can use common, ordinary people to do great things. Jane describes herself as a "Plain Jane" thinking that she's not especially gifted or talented. Jane's friends, however, help her realize that God uses many ordinary people in important and powerful ways. Through dialogue and song, the musical reflects on numerous Bible characters who illustrate this often overlooked truth. Jane discovers that God uses all kinds of people- men, women, youth, and children- to accomplish important things. Eventually, Jane understands that everyone has important roles to play without regard to status. Because of its flexibility, the musical can be adapted for use in most any situation including a camp setting or as a VBS project. Performance time: 30-40 minutes.
