Product Description

Into The Dragon's Den Composed by Raymond Brown. For String Orchestra. Published by Neil A Kjos Music Co. (Catalog # SO336C, UPC: 084027041666)

What a great way to teach F natural - use it in scaler patterns alternating with F# so the difference is readily apparent.  Add an element of suspense with the title and spooky feel of the piece, and you'll have your beginning students begging to play it, not realizing that they are learning an important lesson.  On top of that, there is an opportunity to talk about fear and courage, with lesson plans to that effect, as the piece correlates with the String Basics method book.  Two note slurs and dynamics are also emphasized, so teaching elements abound, and it is such a fun, eerie composition that it will be a super concert or contest/festival selection.
