** Stanton’s Staff Selection – 2016 **
In a New Light challenges and encourages us to view our habits in a new way.  Beginning with a shimmering, reflective build with a hint of the powerful score-like thematic material, it then drives forward with complex rhythmic interplay between sections of the ensemble (counting and independence are a must!).  A section of pentatonic repose follows with rhythmic interjections, then builds to a return of the driving material before the victorious sounding resolution.  A multitude of articulations, accented rhythmic combinations, and accidentals allow for growth in musicianship, and its contemporary sound (and barrage of percussion) will motivate your students.  (3:16)
