Illumination Composed by Bob Lipton. For String Orchestra. Published by Grand Mesa Music Publishers. (Catalog # GMMOR93)

Inspired by the "big hair" heavy metal bands of the 80s, except for a power ballad section in the middle, this one will rock the house. Great for an Alternative Strings group (got electric instruments?) or as a real contrast to Mozart or Vivaldi on a Spring Concert, you can crank up the metronome to 160, work on syncopation and other rock rhythms, contrasting 4/4 with 6/8 and really accentuate the dynamic extemes. Your students & audience will dig it!
