Crown Him the Lord of Life! is a regal hymn concertato on the beloved hymn tune LANCASHIRE, commonly known as The Day of Resurrection. It is appropriate for Easter, Eastertide, Ascension and Trinity Sunday. Suggested corresponding lectionary readings for Easter include Psalm 118: 14-24, Luke 24:1-12, John 20: 1-18 and Acts 10: 34-43. One basic homiletical theme is standing before the throne of God is praise of the Three in One, God the Father, the Risen Christ whose sacrifice redeemed our souls, and the Holy Spirit.
