Close Encounters of a Christmas Kind takes Santa on an exciting journey into “alien” territory. While taking his sled on a test drive, he is beamed up into space and abducted by aliens. Everything the aliens do is controlled by science and devoid of emotions, so they want to study Santa to find out why he gives things away every year. Not understanding the concepts of kindness and love, they want to know “Why does it feel good to give things to others?” Santa takes them back to the North Pole and with the help of Mrs. Claus and the elves they learn the true meaning of Christmas. Available separately: Performance Pack (best value!); Director's Manual, 5-pack Singers' Parts; StudioTrax A/P CD, Listening CD; Preview Pack. Performance time: approx. 35 minutes. Grades 1-6.
