** Stanton's Staff Selection - 2005 **
One of the best pieces among the new music for young band! Opening stately and majesticly in 3/4 with suspended harmonies and a beautiful countermelody in the flutes, the piece transitions to a driving, 4/4 eighth note section featuring the clarinets and trumpets before an intense climax returns to the opening, stately section. Your students will thoroughly enjoy the contemporary, film-score sound and your percussionists will be kept happily busy. (3:30)
