Bailey Switch March is dedicated to the beginner band in Picayune, Mississippi. The title comes from the city's original name, as it was a switching location for trains leaving New Orleans heading north. While it was written to retain a stately quality almost like a processional, it can also be played successfully at a faster tempo for an exhilarating and impressive performance.
