Product Description

Afterburn Composed by Randall D Standridge. Arranged by J Cameron Law. For String Orchestra. Published by Grand Mesa Music Publishers. (Catalog # GMMOR111)

Here's a great way to end a concert - or at least the first half.  Presenting an aural picture of the exuberance and awe of supersonic flight, Afterburn will not only provide lessons in insistent, driving syncopation, playing with forward motion without rushing, F natural, C natural, Bb, D# and G# accidentals, but it also gives you an opportunity to practice detanté with your band director since it calls for a battery of percussion for full effect.  There is lots of call and response between the strings and percussion, and both your string players and the percussionists will develop respect for the challanges each can conquer, and the musical comradery that can evolve between them.  Plus you'll have a great concert piece to present!
