African American History-Athletes

This is the fourth installment of the popular collection series celebrating African American historical figures. Chronicling the lives and achievements offour famous African American athletes, this collection contains songs that maybe used individually or performed together with the rhyming script, creating amini-musical. Along with reproducible parts, there are learning activities andgames for each athlete along with staging suggestions and choreography ideas by Greg Gilpin. Athletes include Ora Mae Washington, James Cleveland (Jessie) Owens, Joe Louis Barrow and Larry Doby. Grades K-6.
