Product Description

3 Celtic Dances Composed by Brian Balmages. For Concert Band. Published by Fjh Music Company, Inc.. (Catalog # B1358, UPC: 674398223107)

** Stanton's Staff Selection - 2008 **
The highlands of Scotland offer a rich tradition of folk tunes and rhythmic motifs. This three-movement adventure is crafted from authentic melodies, as well as original material inspired by the great Celtic heritage. Reel (Mvmt 1) and Jig (Mvmt 3) abound with a celebrative energy, cheery dance melodies and a wealth of thundering percussion. Movement 2 uses solo alto saxophone in a moving, plaintive treatment of Well May I Behold My Faithful Brown-Hair'd Maid that builds to a breathtaking climax before ebbing softly into the mountain mist.
