Aquia Hills

A mournful saxophone solo introduces the poignant lyrical theme that is swept into the full ensemble in flowing, ever-changing currents of melody reminiscent of Vaughan Williams. A driving rhythmic continuo ushers in contrast to the broad legato lines in a dark and forceful allegro section. Anexcellent piece for teaching balance and expressive playing. (5:25)
