Aztalan (City of Mystery)

Tone clusters and plenty of auxillary percussion combine to create the mysterious, film score-like effect of this mature-sounding work for young band. Aztalan was an ancient city around 1000 years ago in what is now southern Wisconsin that had mysteriously disappeared by the year 1300. Modernharmonies and ensemble phrasing make this a great teaching piece. Your students will enjoy the story and your audience will be impressed by the way your group sounds.
